UPDATE: 23/03/2010

The new beta contains a few exciting updates!

1. Sentences can now be fine tuned perfectly in that there are no tiny gaps between words playing apart from the usual trail on the sound.
2. Filesystem is now .mp3 meaning much smaller filesize for the app itself.
3. Users can now post direct to their facebook, twitter and email accounts with their user created sentences.
4. Lots of new words and content, user requested and otherwise. As usual, any in app purchase packs will automatically show for you as you are BETA testing.

If you were lucky enough to get into the Pocket Announcer Beta then we need your input. The point of Beta Testing is so that we can get feedback on all aspects of the application be it the design, quality, bug reports, ideas or general usage.

In order for us to allow you into the Beta we will first need the UDID for your iPhone or iPod Touch which can be found by connecting your device to iTunes and selecting it from the left menu. Now in the right hand side window click Serial NUMBER.

You will see that it has now changed to Identifier (UDID)

CTRL + C on PC or CMD + C on Mac to copy the UDID to your clipboard and then Direct message me on Twitter with the UDID so i can verify you are indeed in the BETA.

I will then be able to add your lucky devices into the program and give you further details on the download location of the BETA application and details on how to install it.

Being a BETA tester doesn’t only give you free access to the application! You also get any IAP free of charge and you get it way before others.

In short, being a BETA tester is AWESOME.

UPDATE: Before downloading the BETA we have some information.

1. This is for personal use only and is not intended for broadcast or to be used for commercial gain in any commercial or business related activity unless for the sole purpose of promotion of the App itself.

2. You may post videos of the application to your blogs or youtube channels if the basis of the video is for promotion of the App itself.

3. Could any bugs be reported to myself through our contact page.

4. Same goes for ideas for the app.

5. You may NOT share this BETA with anybody else. Apart from the fact that it wont work anyway, illegal distribution is something we do not take lightly. The BETA is signed and different to our full version and therefore is monitored.

6. You may NOT connect to audio recording equipment in attempt to pull sounds from the application.

7. You may NOT attempt to download ANY sounds from the application unless they are the provided ringtones and alarm calls.

In short, you are free to use this within your shows etc but not as a promotion tool for any commercial or business related venture. For instance you may use the application to create prank calls live on radio BUT Pocket Announcer must be credited when doing so.

Things we already know:

1. Waveform images aren’t all there in sentence maker. These are still to be generated.

2. Prank caller section not yet included

3. Peter section not yet included

How to install

Once you have downloaded the .zip file unzip to your desktop. Inside will be 2 files consisting of a provisioning profile and a .app.

First, drag the provisioning profile into the applications section of iTunes and sync your iPhone or iPod. Once the sync has completed drag the .app over into the same section and sync again. The app will now install to your device and should run with no issues.

BETA 2.0 Updates

Hey testers. First off i would like to thank you ALL very much for your in depth testing of the BETA.

I listened to all of you and was ready to submit the final product today to Apple but a lot of you requested a function that after more deliberation felt i should include so here is a list of the extras you can find in BETA 2.

+ Prank Caller
Fixed intermittent crash bug when leaving sentence creator
+ Preview button for sentence creator sounds
+  Stop button for sentences
When you select individual words in the sentence they now use the values of the sliders so if you clipped a word it will now play as such
Reorganised categories to make for easier selection
Are you sure alert system is now in place to avoid accidentally deleting sentences or closing the maker

Now for the biggy

you can now move words around in the sentences by simply dragging them to your required position. you can also move the cursor to a position you require to add a word to meaning full control of your sentence.

Overall, i believe the day we spent on the extra code will benefit the app much greater than being supplied in an update.

I AM submitting the app tomorrow afternoon so you have until then for any last minute small fixes.
